WWE Evolution PPV Prediction 2018

At long last, we have the PPV that has been in the making for about 8-9 months, now…the first ever HISTORIC Pay-Per-View that the meaning of the word “Historic” has lost all meaning.
It’s WWE Evolution! From Uniondale, Long Island, New York City!
Let’s get into the predictions!
NON-TITLE MATCHES:
6-Woman Tag Match | ||
Sasha Banks, Bayley & Natayla | vs | The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan & Liv Morgan) |
PREDICTIONS: This is the first of 2 6-woman tag matches as this seems to be clobbered together for no particular reason. This doesn’t have much of a story line but seems just there to use the women in this PPV. I’m not sure how Natayla ended up with Sasha or Bayley so she’ll probably turn on them after the PPV. Riott Squad are on fire being as dominant tag team in the WWE, not just on RAW and/or SmackDown! Riott Squad to win! |
Tag Team Match | ||
vs | Lita & Trish Stratus | |
PREDICTION: What was supposed to be 2 separate 1v1 matches has now been turned into a tag match. You essentially have 3 hall of famers in here and Alexa Bliss. Why couldn’t it have been Alexa & someone like Ember Moon instead of Mickie James…but I’ll suppose we’ll never know. Alexa & Mickie have nothing to lose here, so Lita & Trish Stratus to win!
UPDATE: WWE have confirmed that Alexa is now out of the match and replaced by Alicia Fox. My prediction still stand that Lita & Trish would win. |
“””Historic””” Women’s Battle Royale for a Future Women’s Championship match!
A lot of women | vs | A lot of other women! |
PREDICTION: Are we just going to ignore the Battle Royale at Wrestlemania or even the Women’s Royal Rumble? It cannot be historic if this is the third time that a Battle Royale is happening this year alone! Come on WWE! Err, my prediction… Well, could be anyone, so I’ll choose: Michelle McCool. No reason for it… I just suspect that it’ll not be the obvious Asuka or Naomi or whomever. |
TITLE MATCHES:
Singles match in the final of the Mae Young Classic Tournament.
Io Shirai | vs | Toni Storm |
PREDICTION: To be honest, I have not watched much of the Mae Young Classic Tournament but given how popular Io Shirai was in Japan, then she is going to be big in WWE especially when she goes into NXT. Toni Storm is also really good who is signed to the new NXT UK brand and would be a good contender to take on [NAME REDACTED] for the upcoming NXT United Kingdom Women’s Championship (Ssh, no one knows about it yet) Io Shirai to win! |
Singles Match for the NXT Women’s Championhip!
Kairi Sane (C) | vs | Shayna Baszler |
PREDICTION: The last time these two fought was the night before SummerSlam at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4. Both of these are very good in the ring (Especially Kairi). Shayna has that submission speciality that would see her be very dominant on the main roster when she gets called up. Kairi Sane to retain and I feel Shayna is ready for the main roster! |
Singles Match for the RAW Women’s Championship!
Ronda Rousey (C) | vs | Nikki Bella |
PREDICTION: Well, we know that it is going to be a squash for Ronda as she would put Rousey into a submission. If Nikki Bella was to defeat Rousey, it would make Rousey look weak and it would de-value the RAW Women’s Champion and I cannot see that happening any time soon. Here is hoping that Ronda would keep the title till around Royal Rumble, lose it and then get it back at Wrestlemania! Ronda Rousey to retain! |
Last Woman Standing Match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship!
Becky Lynch (C) | vs | Charlotte Flair |
PREDICTION: Hottest feud of the year. This story has been brilliant and I am in love with Heel Becky! Becky Lynch is the dominant fighting champion as opposed to the chicken-shit Alexa Bliss run that she had! From the promo that she had with Edge on SmackDown 1000 to her showing up at the WWE Performance Center and attacking Charlotte, it is fantastic. It makes Charlotte look weak which needs to happen because we needed Heel Becky for a very long time! Becky to retain! |
And that is my predictions for WWE Evolution! I am looking forward to this PPV as it will be interesting to see what WWE does with this after Sunday Night…will there be a split in PPV’s so that every 3-4 months there is a women’s PPV or is this just a one and done? We’ll see
I will be liveblogging WWE Evolution this Sunday night from 10PM GMT on twitter.com/wressling_
