So about RAW & SmackDown (18/03 & 19/03 2019)

So about last night, as I alluded to on Twitter, I have decided to change the way that I am making “So about last night”. Instead of having 2 posts with little to no content in it, here is RAW AND SmackDown in one post.

So let’s go.

RAW

We start off with RAW on Monday night with Paul Heyman along with Brock Lesnar coming out to address Seth Rollins about their match at Wrestlemania for the Universal Title. Paul gets interrupted by Drew McIntyre.

Before Drew could get to the ring, Seth Rollins comes out and blasted Drew with 13 chair shots which spawned this funny clip:

Finn & ??? vs Lashley & Rush

Next up was Finn Bálor and a mystery opponent against Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush and Michael Cole cannot keep his mouth shut.

He said just before the cameras went to black that it would be a monstrous tag team match, he gave away that it was going to be Braun Strowman.

Couldn’t you have kept quiet for more than 3 minutes Cole?

Anyway, Balor & Strowman won that match. No IC title match indication for Wrestlemania at all.

Kurt Angle

Kurt came out and stated that his final match at Wrestlemania was going to be against Baron Corbin…which no one wanted, this should have been John Cena but we may be swerved yet.

He fought Chad Gable and won.

Beth Phoenix

Beth Phoenix came out and announced that she is coming out of retirement to tag with Natalya and take on Bayley and Sasha Banks for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at Wrestlemania.

Drew McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins and then challenged Roman Reigns to a fight at Wrestlemania.

Let’s put the brakes on this for a second.

Does anyone on the RAW brand have a proper feud going for Wrestlemania? All the matches on RAW seem to be thrown together at the very last minute with no build or no hype. WWE, you have 2 weeks to make me interested in Wrestlemania.

NXT TakeOver: New York has already won and the cared hasn’t been finalised as of yet.

SmackDown

Nothing much to say about SmackDown but:

  • The IIconics defeated The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection.
  • Charlotte and Becky Lynch get into a fight again.
  • Kofi Kingston won the Gauntlet match defeating Samoa Joe, Cesaro, Sheamus, Randy Orton & Rowan but Vince came out and decided that he had to fight a 6th guy, the WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan. Kofi lost to Byran and now will NOT be going to Wrestlemania.
  • But now we do not know who Daniel is going to face at Wrestlemania.

Again, SmackDown is suffering some of the issues that RAW is having especially with the WWE Championship match.

Let’s hope in the next couple of weeks that card will somehow look a bit better than what it is now.
