My thoughts about Brock Lesnar on SmackDown

Last night on SmackDown Live, Brock Lesnar appeared for the first time since Summerslam where Seth Rollins defeated him to retain the Universal Championship.

He challenged the WWE Champion Kofi Kingston to a match for the title at the first Friday Night SmackDown on October 4th, 2019.

While I do have my doubts about the former 3-time Universal Champion being an ‘active’ member of the SmackDown roster, I will be optimistic that he would become a fully active wrestler on Friday nights.

Kofi has been a great champion and he isn’t one to back down from a fight but I do not see him winning this. On a business standpoint, FOX would prefer to have Brock be the face of SmackDown on their channel. A person that people who watch FOX can relate to, Brock Lesnar, a former UFC Champion.

Hopefully that after the WWE Draft, Brock Lesnar will hold the title for a while. Personally, I would him to hold him until after Survivor Series where he can face-off against Seth Rollins for the 3rd time but both of them holding titles.

As for going into 2020, it’s difficult to predict what could happen. You could easily go down the path of Brock vs Roman again for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania but do we really want to see that again? Who knows.

I’m excited for SmackDown on FOX and the upcoming draft, but Brock’s attendance record needs to be improved if he is going to be champion.
